Table 9 shows the level of out-migration of public and private graduates based on graduates' current province of residence as of Fall 1997 when the survey was conducted. In general, there was greater out-migration of graduates from programs of longer duration and of graduates from the public colleges. Specifically, graduates of public college programs reported having left Newfoundland and Labrador at rates of 26.8% for three-year programs, 20.2% for two-year programs and 18.6% for one-year programs. In contrast, private college graduates reported living out of the Province at rates of 12.6% for graduates of two-year programs and 11.3% for graduates of one-year programs.
